Armed Robbers Held Victims Captive In Secaucus Hotel Bathroom: Police

May 2024 · 2 minute read

Nyshiem O. Inmon met with the three victims in their hotel room at the Aloft hotel on Harmon Meadow Boulevard, around 3 a.m. on Jan. 26, before Lyemel Summerville and another suspect barged in with handguns, Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said.

Three of the victims were held against their will in the bathroom of the hotel room, and when one of the victims refused to go in, Inmom stabbed him in his leg, Miller said.

Inmon and his accomplices fled the area with approximately $20,000 of the victims’ cash in a getaway vehicle that was waiting in the parking lot, operated by Russell Francis, police said.

Responding police officers found the stabbing victim in the lobby bleeding from his leg. Police Officer Dwight Wise applied a toruniquet to the victim’s leg, presumably saving his life. The victim was transported to the Jersey City Medical Center where he treated and released.

Francis, 53, was arrested Feb. 4 in Secaucus and charged with armed robbery. He was being held in the Hudson County Jail.

On Feb. 8, 2023, Summervile, 24, of Brooklyn, was arrested in the Bronx by NYPD Brooklyn North Violent Felony Squad. He was charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, armed robbery and multiple other offenses. He was being held at Rikers Island awaiting extradition to New Jersey, police said.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Inmon, who has ties to Jersey City, New York City and Maryland.

The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests may follow. Tips can be made by calling (201) 330-2049, emailed to spdtips@secaucus.net or submitted anonymously through the department’s website at www.secaucuspolice.org.
