BELLEFONTE - Kaden Clark, a Bellefonte Little League All-Star player, received tragic news early this year.
Clark was diagnosed with a brain tumor in January, but that didn't stop him from doing what he loved most.
He once thought he would never play baseball again.
"We didn't even know if I was going to be able to play," said Clark. "Just playing was an achievement."
Within days of doctors telling him about the tumor, he was in an operating room.
The Clark family never saw it coming.
"We found out, and then boom, right away, it was go home, take off the weekend, go to school, and then operation," said Jim Clark, Kaden's father.
Once he was back home, he began a long recovery process, but he still wanted to play baseball.
"Once he got out of the surgery it was like this kid is going to be fine," Clark said. "He's going to beat this and be fine."
After six weeks, Kaden was back on the field. This time however, he was in the spotlight.
"People who used to kinda cheer for me would cheer a lot," Kaden said. "People who wouldn't cheer at all, began to cheer for me."
At the end of the season he made the Bellefonte 11-1 All-Star team, and had a total of 17 home runs. He even helped his team bring home a championship.
"Winning the district championship in his 12th year and just being a part of the Bellefonte Little League team was what made all the difference," Clark said.
