The Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers came up short in Thursday's state championship game in Hershey.
Imani Christian Academy defeated Berlin by a score of 79-52 in the PIAA boys' basketball Class 1A championship.
The Mountaineers finished the season with an overall record, including playoffs, of 28-3.
This was Berlin's third state title game appearance in the past four seasons, and a rematch of last year's boys' Class 1A championship.
6 News spoke with head coach Tanner Prosser about the team's journey this season.
"I know they really wanted to do it for the school and the community. I know they really, really wanted to do that. And I know it's things right now, they were not able to accomplish that goal. It's going to hurt them, and it hurts those guys. It hurts me, but I can promise everybody that supported us, these kids, they did everything the coaches asked."
Thursday's championship was the final game in Class 1A for both teams.
The Mountaineers will move to Class 2A next season and Imani Christian chose to move to Class 6A.
