BIOGRAPHY
Calista Flockhart began her career at university, where she already excelled on stage. A passion that led him to devote the following years to the theater. She plays in a number of plays from the classical repertoire: from Chekhov ‘s Three Sisters to Tennessee Williams ‘ The Glass Menagerie , which in 1994 allowed her to win two of the most important prizes awarded to the theater. Acclaimed by critics, the actress saw her career take off. Courted by the cinema, Robert Redford gave her a small role in Quiz Show and she continued with The Birdcage , alongside Robin Williams and Gene Hackman . In 1997, series producer David E. Kelley asked her to play Ally McBeal , a romantic but neurotic young lawyer in the eponymous series. After much hesitation, the actress decided to embark on this television adventure. It was a good thing for him, the success was immediate and allowed him to assert himself in the cinema in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and What I Know About Her… with a Simple Look . Following the termination of Ally McBeal in 2002, Calista Flockhart put her acting career on hold to take care of her family. For her return to the screen in 2005, she changed register by starring in Fragile , a horror film directed by Jaume Balaguero . The following year, she returned to television in the ABC series Brothers & Sisters . She plays communications manager Kitty Walker throughout the 5 seasons of the program. After an appearance in Lisa Kudrow ‘s Web Therapy , she participated in season 2 of Full Circle created by Neil LaBute . In 2015, the production of Supergirl hired her to lend her features to Cat Grant, business manager at the head of the media company which hired the young Kryptonian heroine.
