Contracted employee at DuBois Nursing Home tests positive for COVID-19

Officials at DuBois Nursing Home confirmed a contracted employee tested positive for COVID-19.

In a letter posted to Facebook, officials at DuBois Continuum of Care Community said the employee was diagnosed with COVID-19 on May 24, after being tested as part of her provider’s protocol. The letter states, she was not symptomatic.

The letter said the employee provided services at the facility and has since been excluded there. Families of residents located on the floor the employee worked on were notified, according to the letter.

Officials said the employee who tested positive wore personal protective equipment while working at the facility. There are no cases among residents, according to the letter.

The letter states in part:

“Resident safety is our top priority. We continue to stay in very close communication with local and state health officials and taking all the appropriate steps related to COVID-19. We continue to not permit visitors per the direction of the local health department.”

According to officials, all other employees, including contracted, are continuing to be screened.
