By virtue of its high damage and vast perk pool, Forbearance has become one of the greatest ad-clearing weapons in Destiny 2. Whether used for blinding enemies, doing large chunks of damage to bosses, or clearing mass amounts of enemies, grenade launchers are always a good choice.
With so many options available, I personally found it difficult to pick between the grenade launchers I wanted and all the flavor of the month choices. That was until I discovered the Forbearance. What’s great about Forbearance is that I can craft it along with enhanced perks, setting it apart from its competition. The trouble is knowing where to look to get the Forbearance.

How To Find Forbearance In Destiny 2
Forbearance is a weapon that exclusively drops from the Vow of the Disciple Raid in Destiny 2. The grenade launcher will also only drop from the second and final encounters of the raid, which are against The Caretaker and Rhulk. I had to do a few runs before getting the weapon. Once I got one, though, I was able to buy multiple versions of the grenade launcher with the Spoils of Conquest rewards I received after completing the raid. I also found that the Forbearance will drop as an adept weapon if you are playing in the Master version of Vow of the Disciple.
Forbearance Performance In PvE
In Destiny 2’s PvE, Forbearance is a powerhouse of a weapon. Due to its status as an arc damage wave frame, I could wipe an entire group of enemies with ease with one trigger pull while also doing considerable damage to some higher health targets. Forbearance is good for Nightfall Strikes when combined with seasonal artifacts.
Forbearance Performance in PvP
In PvP, Forbearance is pretty underwhelming due to the strength of some other grenade launchers you can get in Destiny 2. That being said, Forbearance can be useful when paired with a high-damage primary weapon. I recommend something like Different Times, with an Adrenaline Junky mod. This setup allowed me to stack damage with grenade kills.
