ALBUQUERQUE, NM (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A fire in a building adjacent to the historic El Rey Theater in Albuquerque has left the venue closed, at least until the weekend.

The theater's next door neighbor, Puccini's Golden West Saloon was completely gutted, leaving only the facade and a few walls of the building. The El Rey was left largely intact but suffered some damage from smoke and water and they hope to be re-opened as early as this weekend. Cleanup at the site still needs to be done and the building must be re-permitted by safety inspectors.

A number of events have been rescheduled or relocated resultant.

The Matt Haimovitz show on March 9th will be held at the Kimo Theater. Matt Haimovitz has requested that the concert be turned into a benefit to help recover from the blaze.

A concert by Brian Auger has been rescheduled to April 19th at the El Rey. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
