SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities say a Somerset County man is facing assault charges after he allegedly attacked his employer with a crowbar.
Police say on Monday, 60-year-old Christopher Dayton reportedly went to Petrunak’s Store, in Windber, looking for work.
Officials say when Dayton was told there was no work, he reportedly became violent, striking the store owner with a crowbar and then choking him on the ground.
Police say after the attack, Dayton also reportedly damaged store displays and threatened an elderly customer.
Online court records show that he was charged with multiple offenses, including felony aggravated assault.
He was arraigned Monday and is free on unsecured bail.
