The league is accepting players from grades two through 12 this year. To enhance the program, the league is adding an all-girl league for grades four through six, as well as coed high school league for players in grades 10 through 12 called Friday Night Lights.
Last year, 345 players participated in the New Canaan Flag Football League. This was an all-time high, with 30 teams and 60 coaches.
The season will start in early September and continue until late November, player on Water Tower Turf field on Saturday mornings, ending in the early afternoon.
Additionally, the league is running a preseason camp from Aug. 14 through 18 at Waveny Park from 8:50 a.m. to 1 p.m. The camp is meant for players to improve their conditioning and skills, while also playing in practice games.
The league works hand in hand with USA/NFL Football and is run by the New Canaan recreation department.
