BIOGRAPHY
Shawn Dou is an actor of Chinese and Canadian nationality, born on December 15, 1988, in Shaanxi, China. When he was 10 years old, he emigrated with his parents to Vancouver, Canada, where he specialized in karate and won the youth championship two years in a row. After graduating from high school, he returned to China, where he was accepted into the Beijing Film Academy. By his second year, Dou began participating in casting tests, landing one of the lead roles in Zhang Yimou’s drama Under the Hawthorn Tree (2010), which represented his professional debut. Since then he has remained active and popular, thanks to films such as The Flowers of Blood (2011), Everybody’s Fine (2016) and Fuego en el cielo (2019).
