JOHNSTOWN -- Southern Airways will begin offering three daily nonstop flights from Johnstown to Pittsburgh International Airport and Dulles International Airport near Washington, D.C. starting Nov. 19.
The flights will be based out of John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County Airport, about 60 miles east of Pittsburgh.
The routes are subsidized by the government as part of the Essential Air Service program run by the U.S. Department of Transportation. The program is meant to connect secondary airports with those in larger, nearby hubs.
