UPDATE:
CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — State police in Centre County have released new details about what led to Wednesday's shooting at a residence along Capstone Lane in Worth Township.
Troopers say Kyle Hockenberry, 28, of Bellefonte, faces charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and making terroristic threats, according to online court documents.
According to the arrest affidavit, police learned that Hockenberry and the victim, who work together, had been drinking after work on Wednesday.
Police say according to statements from the victim and a witness, the two began arguing after they arrived home.
The victim told police that Hockenberry, who had recently moved in with him, then began loading his belongings into his truck and attempted to leave.
Police say as Hockenberry was leaving the residence, his truck reportedly became disabled, due to a mechanical failure, and caught fire.
According to the victim, Hockenberry remained inside the truck so he (the victim) told police that he used a rock to break the window and removed him (Hockenberry) from the vehicle.
The affidavit states that, according to Hockenberry, the two began arguing again because the victim reportedly assaulted him after breaking the window on his truck.
Police say Hockenberry then walked back towards the residence and grabbed a shotgun from the garage.
Investigators say he attempted to shoot the victim in the stomach but the gun reportedly misfired. Police say he then pulled the trigger a second time, striking the victim in the thigh.
Police say the victim then got into his own vehicle and attempted to drive back towards the residence, at which time Hockenberry reportedly fired another shot, striking the vehicle.
Authorities say Hockenberry then fled the scene on an ATV but returned a short time later and was taken into custody without further incident.
Upon interviewing both Hockenberry and the victim, police say that the dispute between the two of them reportedly stemmed from Hockenberry blaming the victim for "everything that has gone wrong in his (Hockenberry's) life."
However, according to Hockenberry, police say he told investigators that the victim "had been been blaming him for everything," the complaint states.
Police say the victim was transported to UPMC Altoona for treatment, his condition is unknown at this time.
Hockenberry was arraigned Thursday morning on the aforementioned charges, court dockets show, and will be housed at the Centre County Prison, on $250,000 bail.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 8.
