PHILADELPHIA (TND) — A teen murder suspect who was "considered dangerous" has been captured after being on the run for five days in Philadelphia.
Shane Pryor, 17, escaped from the emergency room parking lot of Children's Hospital Thursday after he was brought in for a hand injury, Deputy Commissioner of Investigations Frank Vanore said during a news conference obtained by ABC News.
U.S. Marshals Service Philadelphia said Pryor was captured Sunday at 6:30 p.m. after investigators conducted surveillance in the Hunting Park area where Pryor was known to frequent.
He was seen boarding a Septa bus when U.S. Marshals Service Philadelphia pulled the bus over and arrested Pryor without incident, according to officials.
Photos show U.S. Marshals taking Pryor into custody at 3rd Street and Roosevelt Boulevard in North Philadelphia.
Detectives noted a black handcuff key was found in Pryor's pocket when he was searched.
The Philadelphia Police Department (PPD) said he was being transferred to the PPD homicide unit.
Pryor has been in jail since he was 14 years old after he was charged with the 2020 murder of 54-year-old Tanya Harris, according to CBS News.
He is still awaiting a trial.
