The Jonas Brothers are making their rounds through our region this week, performing in Hershey on Saturday, Pittsburgh on Tuesday, followed by a concert in State College on Wednesday. However, the brothers are making headlines across the country for a different reason.
While there have been Jonas sightings in the past, like celebrating 21st birthdays at Champs, showing support for the Nittany Lions at the Rose Bowl, or Joe Jonas performing at THON in 2017, there has never been quite so many consecutive public stops to Happy Valley as there have been this year.
The brothers who have been to the Year 3000 are doing fine in 2019...and spending a lot of time around Penn State. In April, the Jonas Brothers thought it would be pretty Cool to surprise bar-goers at Champs in downtown State College. The Nittany Lions were Suckers for the spontaneous performance, with Coach James Franklin even inviting the brothers back for Penn State's white-out game. After all, he is Only Human.
It appears that the Jonas Brothers were Burnin' Up with a little Love Sickness after that trip, adding the Bryce Jordan Center as a stop on their tour.
Even with a concert in Hershey on Saturday, Joe made his time in State College A Little Bit Longer, by surprising football fans at Beaver Stadium before his Comeback on Wednesday.
A Rollercoaster of a schedule, yet the brothers did not Hesitate to visit a special fan. The video of the Jonas Brothers meeting 16-year-old Lily Jordan at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center has gone viral online. Jordan says she jokingly sent out the S.O.S. to the brothers when she could not make it to their concert due to chemo treatments. She was surprised when she found out they were coming to meet her, "I didn't think it would actually work."
She says, "It's amazing, just knowing that these high-profile people that I've loved since I was literally six-years-old are now, like, they know, just the fact that they know about me is really cool."
People wonder where the Jonas Brothers' relationship with Penn State stems from. All arrows seem to point to their manager, Phil McIntyre, who is from State College.
Who knows, the Jonas Brothers might just Believe that Happiness Begins in Happy Valley.
