Tommy Chong started playing guitar in high school and was the guitarist for “The Shades” in the early 1960s. After that, the band renamed itself “Little Daddy & the Bachelors” and relocated to Vancouver, British Columbia.

Later, the band is renamed “Bobby Taylor and the Vancouvers.” The band got a deal with “Gordy Records” in 1965 and began work on their debut album.
